My City Of Ruins

Last night I went to check out a couple shows at Rockwood and ended the night with Robbie Gil, a favorite of mine. Near the end of his set, he began to talk about September 11th and got fairly emotional. His band left the stage and Robbie played this amazingly beautiful, moving tribute (a cover of Bruce Springsteen's song). It was so quiet in there when he was playing it and everyone got really into it. There's something quite theraputic and almost magical about singing all together during an emotional time. I think it really connects people, because music can do something that words alone cannot.
